Panels. What do you mean?

Here's a view of a panel I'm painting on today and the backside of another painting.

I love the texture of these "primed smooth" panels by Ampersand. I also have a preference for non-framed art in my home and these panels come in depths (these have a 1.5" cradle) that you can paint, or keep clean.

The subject of my painting was a yummy Bosc pear. Last weekend it was so beautiful in Columbia that I spent more time outside trying to photograph fruit in natural light than I actually spent painting.

I'll be working on a second Bosc painting next week that was set up on a cream colored cloth. And no, don't try eating Nandina berries with your pear. They were near my photo set up and I loved the color combination.
